Designated as a historical monument in 1993.

This house was built in 1630 for the ship-owner Esteban d’Etcheto and is a testament of the growing economic power of the new town of Ciboure, with its cut stone façade topped by a Flemish style pediment. Once called Maison Mazarin after the Chief Minister of France stayed there in 1660 for the royal wedding of Louis XIV and the Spanish Infanta, the house is now called Maison Ravel (Ravel House) since the famous composer Maurice Ravel was born there in 1875.
