While the town councillors held their meetings in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church, in 1656, the bailiff Jean de Casabielhe had the “Town House” built at the end of the bridge, opposite the Lohobiague House, which then lost its western view. The very simple U-shaped building is topped by a voluted pediment containing a bell. In the 18th century, the town councillors sold part of this edifice in order to finance the building of a protective dyke. This part is still held in private hands nowadays. The inner courtyard is overlooked by the replica of an equestrian statue of Louis XIV bought by the town council in 1932. The Hôtel de Ville contains part of the municipal art collections, works by local artists including Ramiro Arrue, Edouard Solorzano and Gabriel Deluc.
