At the CIAP Les Récollets
The exhibition pathway of the CIAP Les Récollets allows you to discover the history and heritage of the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Ciboure in an 17th century convent called the Récollets Convent.
You can choose to visit independently or accompanied by the CIAP Les Récollets tourist guides.
- If you visit independently, you can use interactive and playful devices to discover the site and the heritage of the bay.
- If you go on a guided tour called “Récollets Convent – History and Restoration”, you will find out, via the CIAP Les Récollets, about four centuries of heritage. This tour includes the chapel and the old convent buildings, and allows you to retrace the steps of the monks, the customs officers and other people who have played a significant role on this site.
- There are also artistic exhibition pathways which feature actors, musicians and storytellers alongside our tourist guides, and use the old convent as the staging area: you will learn about the heritage and the architecture in a quirky way.
